Simulation of Hydrologic Change of Linggo Co during 1979–2012 Using Hydrologic and Isotopic Mass Balance Model

چکیده

The Tibetan Plateau (TP) and surrounding areas contain the largest number of glaciers outside polar regions. region affects downstream water supply food security, thereby directly influencing one-third world’s population. lakes in central TP expanded rapidly recent decades, which has attracted growing attention. Glacier meltwater was considered as a major component balance lakes, although few studies quantified its contribution. Stable isotope analysis is powerful tool to trace hydrologic circulation, while interpretation paleoclimate records been controversial. To bridge gap between paleoclimatic studies, we performed isotopic mass model simulate lake level change Linggo Co TP. forced by meteorological data, calibrated through observed changes, validated oxygen compositions (δ18O) water. Our results indicated that glacier contributed 73.94% inflow before 1993 but decreased thereafter. Increasing together with positive (precipitation/evaporation) catchment rapid expansion after mid-1990s. Lake δ18O more sensitive changes precipitation amount than temperature. findings could shed light on usage proxy future research

Hydrologic responses of watershed assessment to land cover and climate change using soil and water assessment tool model

Predicting the impact of land cover and climate change on hydrologic responses using modeling tools are essential in understanding the movement and pattern of hydrologic processes within the watershed. The paper provided potential implications of land conversions and climate change scenarios on the hydrologic processes of Muleta watershed using soil and water assessment tool model. Model inputs...

Application of a Conceptual Hydrologic Model in Teaching Hydrologic Processes*

In this study, a hands-on modeling tool is developed for students in civil engineering and earth science disciplines to help them learn the fundamentals of hydrologic processes and basic concepts of model calibration and sensitivity analysis, and practice conceptual thinking in solving and analysis of engineering problems. This modeling tool aims to provide an interdisciplinary application-orie...

A Retrospective Analysis of Model Uncertainty for Forecasting Hydrologic Change

GIS-based hydrologic modeling offers a convenient means of assessing the impacts associated with land-cover/use change for environmental planning efforts. Alternative future scenarios can be used as input to hydrologic models and compared with existing conditions to evaluate potential environmental impacts as part of this process. Model error, however, can be significant and potentially compoun...

Hydrologic Model Parameter Optimisation

Deterministic rainfall-runoff models require parameter calibration with the aim of matching the modeled streamflow record to an observed record as closely as possible. Much attention has been focused on automated methods of model calibration using meta-heuristics, such as genetic algorithms. In this study, two meta-heuristic algorithms were compared: the shuffled complex evolution (SCE) algorit...
